Some people like to believe the EX series sucks, well, contrary to popular belief, YOU SUCK! #0011 the PS2POCALYPSE, Street Fighter EX 3.

Unleashing the Fury: Street Fighter EX 3 Review – The Negative Press– This is the link to what the AI thinks about this game, now we can jump into what I think about this game.

This was a nice breath of fresh air after playing through the roller coaster of the Legacy of Kain games. Street Fighter EX 3 is one of the first PS2 games I had ever played. Despite multiple critical remarks of this game sucking, it doesn’t That includes Screw Attack, as they once stated this is one of the top 10 worst Street Fighter games ever made.

The thing about this game that people like to believe is that this is a 3D Fighter. Not really. There are very few parts of this game where you can actually move into the foreground or background. This is way more of a 2D Fighter than people like to acknowledge and give credit to. Its more of a 3D models fighting on a 2D plane type fighting game than anything else.

On this revisit I played as my man Zangief. I really hope he made it safely through space in that rocket ship that Gorbachev gave him.

Street Fighter EX 3 Story

There really isn’t a story to this one, you got Street Fighter characters mixed with Arika Fighting Layer characters and everyone wants to beat the shit out of M. Bison. The only story is the text you get at the end of the original mode.

Street Fighter EX 3 Story NA/10

Street Fighter EX 3 Gameplay

You have Arene Mode, Original Mode and Edit Character Mode, I didn’t mess around with any of the other modes except Original Mode. In original mode you pick your main character, I picked Zangief. You then fight through 6 battles. The first one is a team of 3 with small health bars vs you. Whoever you leave to defeat last you can recruit to your team.

The next fight is a simple 2 v 2, the best part about this game is that there are no rounds, just one fight til one team doesn’t have a health bar no more. You are given opportunities to earn medals for doing certain actions in the match, i.e. do a super combo finish.

You then fight Garuda, then you fight Sagat, then you fight Bison. When you beat Bison it is game over and you won, you get a nice little story to back up your main character’s little story about what is going on, Zangief is gifted a space ship by his friend, who the fuck knows why.

After the little text part happens you are shown, you go into a little stage that is much like Final Fight as you beat a bunch of random people’s ass during the credits.

Street Fighter EX 3 is simple, fun and enjoyable, its Street Fighter. All the moves you want your Street Fighter main to have are here and they have super combos as well. People give this game a bad rap because they think that the graphics being 3D that it is a 3D fighter, that it is not. It is a 2D Fighter in a 3D environment. Its a basic slower Street Fighter, its fun.

Street Fighter EX 3 Gameplay 8/10

Street Fighter EX 3 Difficulty

I don’t know how to rate the difficulty from a non fighting game player perspective but its rather easy, Sometimes a bit too easy, probably the easiest Street Fighter to beat. It should of been a bit more challenging so its getting knocked down a few points.

Street Fighter EX 3 Difficulty 7/10

Street Fighter EX 3 Graphics

For 2000, this game has some sweet graphics, and it was on a blue disc as well. Its got some sweet parallax going on in the background and some flashy super combo and special finish backgrounds too. Its pretty damn decent in the graphics department. The 3D models look cool too. The drawn portraits of each fighter are really nice as well.

Street Fighter EX 3 Graphics 9/10

Street Fighter EX 3 Controls

I find the controls to be kind of lacking here. Now I did play this with a wonky controller but even with a regularly working controller things seem to be very strictly timed on the inputs.

Street Fighter EX 3 Controls 6/10

Street Fighter EX 3 Sound

The sound department is kinda lacking. It would have been nice if the capcom sound team did the OST. There isn’t much umph on the special moves voice acting neither. The sound the stock female villain makes in the credit roll fight isn’t too appealing neither.

Street Fighter EX 3 Sound 6/10

The AI gave this game a 70%, I give it
