Former AEW TBS Champion, Jade Cargill, made an explosive entrance into WWE’s Women’s Royal Rumble as the 29th entrant, leaving a lasting impact on the premium live event.
In a display of strength and strategy, Cargill initiated her WWE journey by executing a powerful Samoan drop on Nia Jax, tossing her over the top rope. Her focus then shifted to wrestling icons Becky Lynch and the returning Naomi, eliminating Naomi and securing her spot in the final three alongside Bayley and the returning Liv Morgan. Ultimately, Bayley emerged victorious, winning this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble and securing her place at WrestleMania.
Cargill bid farewell to AEW after her last match on the September 15 edition of Rampage, where she faced current TBS Champion Kris Statlander. The emotional post-match embrace marked the end of her tenure, as she was subsequently removed from the AEW roster.
Her AEW journey began with a bang on the November 11, 2020 episode of Dynamite, where she interrupted Cody Rhodes to tease the arrival of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. Teaming up with O’Neal, they triumphed over Rhodes and Red Velvet during her in-ring debut on the March 3, 2021 edition of Dynamite.
January 2022 witnessed Cargill’s remarkable victory over Ruby Soho, earning her the prestigious title of the inaugural TBS Champion. She held onto the title for an impressive 508 days, the longest reign of any AEW champion, until her defeat to Taya Valkyrie at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view this past May.
